Reconstruction of an Image Mosaic

Brief Description:
This is software which can automatically knit together images into a continuous mosaic. The process involves fiding matching features in the input image, rejecting inconsistent matches, and computing a projective mapping which wraps the images into a common coordinate system for display.

Applications:
The software can be used for automatic map-making. It can also be used in security monitoring and surveilance systems, which have object recognition and change detection features. Other applications include uses in a system for route-finding, obstacle detection and path planning for autonomous ground and air vehicles.

Advantages:
The technique enables the interpretation of data from a set of images, in near real time.
